Is the Fiber Optic material Glass or Plastic ?

Fiber optic filament is manufactured in both a glass or plastic.  The filament we feature is 'plastic'.  (Actually: Polymethyl methacrylate Fluorinated Polymer, to be accurate.)

Being 'plastic' has advantages:
The fibers are easier to work with in a hobby or star ceiling application as the are more "forgiving" when they are bent.
You'll learn what John is doing in this photo, a bit later in the "FAQ's".  But we can assure you that what he's doing would NEVER work with GLASS fiber optic fibers!
